Saxophonist Sam Williams has been on the Denver scene since 2013. He is well versed in both jazz and classical music. Sam has quickly been recognized as an outstanding bari player as evident by the great big bands that employ him. They include H2 Big Band and the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra. This group just released their first album titled Turn the Moon

Sam is also an accomplished classical player. In 2013 and 2014, Sam was awarded the Saxophone Fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival, where he appeared with various orchestras and chamber ensembles, presented a solo recital, and performed several U.S. and world premieres. He the baritone saxophonist in the Hemispheres Saxophone Quartet, a chamber ensemble well-versed in both jazz and classical repertoire. In 2015, Hemispheres traveled throughout China as cultural ambassadors of the U.S. State Department, with performances and masterclasses in Beijing, Tianjin, and Wuhan.

Sam did a great job on my recording. He and Gary Mayne held the bottom down! Check out the bari lines on Hindsight and Fiesta Español. Slammin!
